Ko Ogasawara is Vice President & Senior Chief Engineer Space Systems at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI).

Since he joined MHI in 1988, he participated in a variety of space system developments such as H-II Launch Vehicle, Japanese Experiment Module "KiBO", Japanese mini-space shuttle "HOPE" and attended a number of launch operations. As VP and Senior Chief Engineer since April 2020, he is responsible for supervising engineering aspects of diverse space business at MHI including H-IIA Launch Services, development of space station cargo vehicle and research of future space transportation.

He earned his Master’s degree of Engineering from Kyoto University in 1988 and PhD in 2001.
